Vivid Morsels

In early April 2005 I was brought on board to production design a script by Neil McCay, Peter Dowty, and David Groves. The film we're creating is entitled "11", and is about parallels, fate, and the worst movie ever made. Here are my production notes and scenes from behind the scenes. -Alessandra Nicole

05/01: Preparing for our Final Shoot

This past weekend was spent on the gas tank as we drove to NYC to chill with a favorite and much missed friend, then down to Burke, Virginia for a production meeting on our final big shoot.

First, we met at everyone's favorite location, the Frat house, and post-initiation party might I add, to capture the acoustics for voice overs that will be used to narrate parts of our film.

Director Neil mics our main guy.

Notice the George Mason University frat pictures there on the wall.

Outside said Frat house.

We took a break for some beers and talk across the street at good ole O'Toole's.

Next, we trekked to the City of Fairfax to scout our location for the May 14th shoot. It's the perfect location for our congressional campaign rally!

Myself, Neil, and producer Dave discuss possible blocking of our characters and extras.

This may have been where we were talking about the port-o-potties.

This is what a production designer looks like when she scouts her location!

We headed to GMU's Innovation Lab so Neil could capture a photographer's camera flash to use as a transition into a scene.

Smile!

We met up at HiConcept Films Studios to capture the voice overs recorded earlier in the day and screen some of the final cut of our film.

There's still so much I've yet to see, but from what I did see, I am extremely, EXTREMELY pleased. They've picked the indie music for many of the scenes and I am very enthusiastic about their choices. "Eleven" is going to be great! If I were you, I'd find a way to Fairfax, VA on May 14th for an afternoon, your last chance to be a part of something that's really going somewhere. More Info here: Calling all Extras!
