08/09: Thursday at Brion's Grille

It is Tuesday and I am finally feeling rested from the past weekend of filming. For those of you familiar with the script, Thursday night we did the scene where Ian and Percy cross paths in the bathroom in the bar.



Here are our assistant director Jessi and Director of Photography Pete set up for action.

This was the bathroom we used and will be matching with the bar at Firehouse Grille we shot several weeks ago. You can see Cindy, our cleaning lady, in the background. I love to talk with our extras as they always come from such interesting places. Cindy was a career Capital Hillian before leaning on acting as a way to supplement her income. She's been on the West Wing (so I was already a personal fan of her!).

The quarters were cramped in the bathroom so many of us had to amuse ourselves out in the bar area.

We shot until about 1 in the morning Friday.

This is Justin, one of our awesome production assistants, looking like he's about to fall asleep standing up.

Here is our weapon of choice: the Canon Digital XL2.

We had Friday off, so Kristen, Jessi, Corey, Pete, and I made plans to meet up and drive up to Washington DC to blow off some steam for the night. Jesse came over from Delaware and we caravanned to Coyote Ugly for an unforgettable evening that I can barely remember...! We were supposed to meet at Dave's Saturday morning at 7:15 in the morning...needless to say, that did not happen. I will post all about the ensuing weekend tomorrow!
